EMV 2018 analysis: International exhibition continues on course for growth

A post-exhibition analysis of the EMV 2018 shows that the event has proceeded to grow in popularity. Following the event, exhibitors, visitors, conference participants and speakers were all provided with a survey and their responses evaluated.

Satisfied exhibitors due to qualified visitors

The EMV is one of the most important events in the electromagnetic compatibility industry. This is the reason the event manages to attract experts from all over the world, both on the exhibitors’ and visitors’ side. In figures this amounts to 115 exhibitors and 3,461 visitors. 37% of the exhibiting companies came from abroad. The top countries with the most exhibitors, besides Germany, included USA, France, UK, China and the Netherlands.

The quality of visitors was an important factor for the exhibitors: 80% emphasized the high level of conversations and 72% highlighted the newly established contacts at the EMV 2018. These factors are a convincing argument for the exhibitors, and the motivation as to why 96% of them are already planning to exhibit again at the EMV 2019. The EMV is similar to “a large, yet intimate meeting with lots of new faces” commented, exhibitor Bernhard Mund, bedea Berkenhoff & Drebes GmbH, on the close contact with experts and specialists in the community of exhibitors.

Visitors voice positive feedback

The EMV fulfilled visitor expectations: 96% were able to fulfil the goals they had set prior to the event. This was also underlined by the individual program points offered at the event; this was rated as good to very good by 83% of the visitors.

All participants benefitted from the extensive program and expertise that comes together at the event. “At the EMV in Dusseldorf, I was able to find out all relevant news within one day of the exhibition. I can use this new knowledge in my daily life when maintaining contact with service providers and manufacturers”, stated Thomas Porten, Regulatory Compliance Specialist at LANCOM Systems GmbH, on his visit to the EMV 2018.

Conference: ideal platform for exchange and expertise

A total of 98 lectures held by 96 speakers at the conference, the tutorials and workshops provided an impressive offering for the visitors. This resulted in 91% of the visitors being satisfied or very satisfied with their participation at the EMV. Expectations varied considerably: A larger portion was on the lookout for specified technical knowledge (73%), others wanted to pursue an active exchange of information (63%) and some were searching for new opportunities to establish business relations (32%). However, all agreed on one point: The conference fulfilled their expectations.

In 2018, the EMV once again proved that it responds to the interests of all target groups and offers everything they are searching for.
