“EMC goes digital” impresses national and international EMC community

30 Mar 2021

The EMV, which took place online from 22 to 26 March 2021, once again proved its role as the leading event for the European EMC industry and science. Nearly 1,000 participants took advantage of the many opportunities to expand their expertise and make new contacts.

“With the ‘EMV goes digital’ we have met the great demand of the EMC community to provide a platform for exchange and further education,” stated Anthula Parashoudi, Vice President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. The event figures prove her right: the digital event platform brought together approximately 1,000 active users, of which 29% are of international origin.

An important component of the digital EMV, analogue to the event on-site in Stuttgart, were the workshops, in which speakers offered interactive and practical solutions to questions on electromagnetic compatibility. In particular, the German workshop by Sven König, Development Engineer at Langer EMV-Technik GmbH, was very popular with 76 participants.

Powerful side program at the digital EMV

The multifaceted opportunities to be inspired and create new connections convinced the event participants: “Despite the limited possibilities due to Covid-19, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH set up a platform where you ‘almost’ feel like you are at an EMV on-site fair. The range of products and services is broad and very informative, and the contact opportunities are also well used,” says Ralf Fanz, Senior Expert Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) at Porsche Engineering. “The overall experience of the digital EMV is very good and professional,” Malgorzata Mroz, Product Manager at AP-FLYER and event participant, described the digital EMV.

Users praised the supporting program including the speed dating sessions and the virtual beer tasting, but also the German keynotes, which proved to be a crowd puller with an average of 200 listeners.

Large participation and high commitment of exhibitors

The digital edition of the EMV was attended by 48 exhibiting companies and partners, including Rohde & Schwarz, AR Europe, GAUSS INSTRUMENTS and EMC Partner, who presented their product and service portfolios to specialists and executives.

The twelve exhibitor-organized roundtables, in which NARDA Safety Test Solutions, EMC Test NRW and CETECOM, for example, addressed regulatory requirements, product innovations or EMC test environments, met with great interest and positive feedback from the audience: “I personally liked the roundtables very much. They were short, practical and informative. This gives new impetus to discuss in detail with the companies and speakers afterwards,” commented Ralf Fanz.

On-site event in focus for 2022

For Anthula Parashoudi, the “EMV goes digital” has proven successful in practice. “We are pleased with the success of the online edition and will develop further digital offerings based on this experience. Nevertheless, we hope to meet everyone in person again next year to celebrate the premiere in Cologne.”

The next EMV on-site event will take place in Cologne from 15 – 17 March 2022.
