EMC & microwave absorbers

Description

Manufactured by Siepel in France, these absorbers are the result of research focusing on the optimization of the equipment geometry and composition.

They comply with the following characteristics and standards:

  • Reflectivity performance: contractual guarantee
  • Technology: polyurethane foam impregnated with carbon
  • Power handling: from 2 kW/m² to 15 kW/m²
  • Temperature resistance: from – 65°C to +200°C
  • Compliance with fire resistance standards and recommendations: ISO 11925-2 Euroclass E, NRL 8093 – tests 1, 2 & 3, DIN 4102 – B2
  • Use in clean rooms: ISO class 4 in accordance with ISO 14644-1
  • Respect for environmental standards: raw materials compliant with the REACH & RoHS Directives
  • Ageing: excellent service life (> 20 years)
  • Made in France: control of the production line and available stock

LIV coating: a unique coating developed by Siepel; This rubberized coating provides both flexibility, strength and chambers customization. It represents an alternative to the white caps which affect performances at high frequencies.

Discover our wide range of electromagnetic absorbers designed and manufactured by Siepel to comply with standardised Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests, such as:

  • Automotive: CISPR25, ISO 11452
  • Aeronautics & space: RTCA/DO160x
  • Industry: CISPR/EN 14 -16 -22, IEC/EN 61000-4-3
  • Defence: MIL-STD-461, STANAG (incl. AECTP 500)

The following models can be used in new installations, for refurbishment or upgrading of chambers. Use our expertise to get the right absorbers for your specific chamber design and / or installation.

  • SEA-PM – Broadband pyramidal absorbers: for the lining of EMC anechoic chambers for automotive, aerospace and defence equipment
  • SEA- TM - Broadband truncated absorbers: with truncated tips, for an optimised space inside anechoic chambers dedicated to defence and aeronautics.
  • SEA-HY - Hybrid pyramidal absorbers glued on ferrites for commercial and industrial testing (CISPR16-1-4), automotive (CISPR25), defence (MIL-STD-461) and aerospace (DO160).
  • SEA HYT - Hybrid truncated absorbers with reduced tips, for an optimised space inside anechoic chambers for industrial and defence EMC standards
  • SEA-FE – Ferrite absorbers: They enable to meet the performances requested by EMI and EMS testing up to 1 GHz. To extend the performances up to 18 GHz (or more), hybrid foam absorbers (SEA-HY & HYT) must be added on top of the ferrites.

For microwave testing, we have developed a whole range of absorbers tailored to the tests to be carried out.
