ExpoM-RF Monitoring Station

Description

ExpoM-RF Monitoring Station is the extension of the ExpoM-RF 4 to a stationary monitoring unit. It combines the features of the personal radio frequency exposure meter from Fields at Work with long-term data logging and internet connectivity. The unit is based on the ExpoM-RF 4 hardware and features optimized measurement characteristics, a uninterruptible power supply and flexible connectivity options (wired and wireless) for data transfer. The built-in data gateway transfers the measurement data to our database solution or can be configured to support customer specific interfaces upon request.

The database solution developed at Fields at Work can be deployed on any server and can be customized to support a wide range of graphical user interfaces.

FieldMan -  Electromagnetic field meter

FieldMan - Electromagnetic field meter

The FieldMan opens up new possibilities in terms of versatility and handling of electromagnetic field measuring devices. The lightweight, intuitive device can be used with different probes, enabling reliable, direction-independent measurements from 0 Hz (DC) to 90 GHz, thus detecting high- and low-frequency electric and magnetic fields. Thanks to its accurate and reproducible measurements, the FieldMan delivers meaningful and reliable results wherever the safety of people in the vicinity of high electric or magnetic field strengths is concerned. Environmental sensors store temperature, humidity, measurement height and air pressure. A digital probe interface also eliminates the need for calibration of the measuring device. Additional information such as data, text, voice recordings, photos or videos can be easily added. A key area of application is the verification of compliance with general safety regulations such as FCC, IEEE, ICNIRP or EMF Directive 2013/35/EU.

Reliable EMF measurement

Make it easy for yourself: with structured menu navigation, many display elements familiar from smartphone applications, self-explanatory symbols and customisable processes.

Simple data entry

Add whatever you need: the results can be supplemented with text and voice comments, position data (GNSS, distance above ground), photos or videos.

Large colour display

The FieldMan in combination

A wide range of isotropic field probes are available for the FieldMan. All of them transmit their information and measurement data to the FieldMan as a digital signal, either via an electrical USB interface or an optical COM interface. This significantly reduces interference compared to high-impedance analogue interfaces. The specially developed screw connectors and electrical contacts are extremely robust and durable.

In combination with the HP-01 magnetometer, static and time-varying magnetic fields from 0 Hz to 1000 Hz can be analysed. The main application is the measurement of high static fields to ensure the safety of persons who have access to such areas.

The FieldMan can also be used to read out the EHP-50F, an LF analyser in a particularly compact design, which is equipped with E-field and H-field sensors for all 3 spatial axes. This allows electrical and magnetic fields to be measured frequency-selectively, direction-independently, with high accuracy and dynamics from 1 Hz to 400 kHz. The weighted peak measurement method is used for standard-compliant measurement of complex signal forms. The manufacturer's patented method evaluates the input signal by mathematical convolution in the time domain. The result is a direct display of the exposure as a percentage of the limit value. This makes the measurement particularly quick and easy for the user to apply. Weighted peak supports the limit value curves of the most important standards.

RadMan 2XT / RadMan 2LT - Personal radiation monitor

RadMan 2XT / RadMan 2LT - Personal radiation monitor

The personal radiation monitors RadMan 2LT and RadMan 2XT are warning devices designed to protect people working in areas with elevated electromagnetic radiation. With its wide frequency range from 1 MHz up to 60 GHz (XT version), it covers all ranges including 5G and millimetre waves. The device is worn on the body and warns the user in good time before the permissible limits are exceeded.

The RadMan 2 XT is also available as a special version with extremely high ELF immunity (>250 kV/m).

Display and warning signals

The current field exposure is indicated by LEDs in six levels from 5% to 200%. The percentage corresponds to the limit value utilisation of a personal protection standard based on power density. If the field exposure exceeds 50%, a loud alarm sounds and the device vibrates. In addition, a bright indicator light is integrated into the upper part of the RadMan 2, which is easily visible from different viewing angles and flashes red in time with the alarm. A second alarm threshold at 100% provides an even more urgent warning and indicates that the danger zone should be left.

Standard compliance through frequency response evaluation

RadMan 2LT and RadMan 2XT comply with ITU-T K.145 recommendations regarding the use and characteristics of personal radiation monitors. The permissible limits specified in the standards are frequency-dependent. Evaluation filters in the RadMan 2 sensors replicate the frequency response of the standard. They ensure that the alarm thresholds are correct across the entire frequency range. No separate adjustment is necessary.

Minimal influence from the body

Personal monitors are mainly worn on the body. To enable easy attachment to a climbing harness or belt, RadMan 2 is supplied with a suitable holder with an integrated RF absorber. The RF absorber reduces signal reflections caused by the body, which would otherwise interfere with the monitor's display results. For leak detection on waveguide and coaxial screw connections, the RadMan 2 can be removed from the holder and displays an isotropic measurement result.
